Ok, so this is a little late in coming, I suppose, but it has taken me a few days to digest things.

Adventures in moving )

We got the chance to see a bunch of people over at [livejournal.com profile] starwyse's Saturday night, which was great. I do apologize for my lack of conversation, but if you add up the hours of sleep I got over the course of the above adventure, you will realize that in the course of the roughly 52 hours leading up to said soiree, I was able to squeeze in only about 4 hours of meaningful rest. And I will say that the energy at [livejournal.com profile] starwyse's was the perfect balance of peace and happiness to bring me gently down from the adrenaline and force-of-will that our little adventure had pushed me to. I had wisely assembled and made the bed prior to leaving for the non-party, and promptly fell into it and asleep within minutes of arriving home.

It is still somewhat surreal to be here in KC. I am very, very happy to be here and things feel very right. There was a part of me, especially late Friday morning after [livejournal.com profile] fyreseer had left, that felt like I would never make it to this point - it was just so far off and there seemed so many things to do and so many obstacles in the way.

But it is done. And I am here. And life is good.

And now I must be off to bed. Day 3 at the home office commences at 7.

Let me know what you think...

My Johari Window

I haven't written much lately (thank you Captain Obvious), but that doesn't stop things from happening. LOL.

The biggest thing going on is our ([livejournal.com profile] fyreseer & me) impending move back to KC. We're shooting for the week ending April 15. We have an apartment (AMLI Enclave at Town Center) and have now focused on the task of hauling our ~9300 lbs. of stuff from Chicago to OP. That weight is courtesy of a full-service moving company's estimate, and came with a $3800 estimated cost. OUCH! I don't think we'll be using that option, unless, perchance we happen to come into some money in the next couple of weeks.

I am very excited to be headed home. I can't wait to be back amongst friends and a community that I can thrive in. I like Chicago just fine, but this trip around that block has proved trying when it came to finding friends and community.

Well, I have to run hop in the shower before heading out for a meeting (this post is coming to you from Atlanta), so I will write more later.
