... when a plan comes together. :-)

My company implemented a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software package almost a year ago, with the directive from upper management that it be mandatory for our sales reps to use it. But we (IT department) weren't really given the teeth to enforce that mandate, and the sales managers (whose jobs it should be) weren't bothering to enforce it.

So, over the last couple of months the managers have started falliing into line with prodding from upper management and as a result more of the reps are using it, too. But there has been one group of reps (the "Strategic Accounts Group") that have outright refused to use the software, saying it doesn't support what they do. We haven't been able to do anything about it because they as a group bring in the most sales revenue, and God/dess forbid we disrupt their "successful" ways.

I just finished work on and implemented a sales forecasting and analysis application that is mandatory for all levels of the sales organization and will be enforced by the entire hierarchy. The only access to it is through the CRM app.

One of the SAG reps just emailed another IT person (who the relayed it on to me) and asked for their login/password to the CRM app. >:)

Am I evil for snorting and laughing out loud?
