Gas Out 2007 - nevermind.

Despite what the site say, there is also plenty of evidence that it doesn't make a bit of difference. Oh, well. It's a nice thought, I guess. I shoulda done my homework.

Carry on. Nothing to see here.

Apparently tomorrow, May 15, has been chosen for a "Gas Out." A friend of mine emailed me about it a bit ago, and it appears to be legit.

Here's more info.

Apparently, something similar was done in 1997, and gas prices dropped 30 cents/gallon overnight.

Worth a shot, if you ask me.

Actually there is no evidence that it helped. Hate to burst the bubble. Wish I could remember the coding offhand. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18492185/

Yeah, I was about to comment the same thing. I mean, nobody actually buys less gas even if they don't buy that day.

The only way this would really work is if people would take car-pooling seriously and get about 1/3 of the cars off the highways on a regular basis.

I'm afraid all this does is make the people who are really making money off of gasoline laugh more at the rest of us.

Yeah, what I really wish is that we'd take some of the non-traditional fuel sources a little more seriously. I really think this is gonna get a lot worse before it gets better.

But that's not a very optimistic thought, is it?
