"While Pepsi and Coca-Cola (and others) closely guard their secrets to making cola beverages, several organizations have released their own recipes. Below is the recipe for homemade "OpenCola," an open-source cola beverage that invites makers to create and modify their recipe to achieve a better beverage. How to Make OpenCola

That sounds really hard to do. The last time I went looking for 0.25 ml of neroli oil it was a total bitch to find, never mind trying to locate 1.25 ml cassia oil. It's nothing that Wild Oats carries, that's for sure. Do you think there are substitutes? =)

Ya, my oil stocks are low, too. I wonder if Penzey's would carry some of this stuff?

Also, where do you get your caffeine?

And I wonder if you can substitute Splenda or Equal for all that sugar?

Penzey's does not stock the oils, they are fairly rare and must be specialty ordered and yes, you can find them occasionally that are not readily diluted with jojba oil. Finding caffeine is the same way and if you substitute artificial sweeteners for sugar it reacts badly with the essential oils and the taste is nasty...

Yes, I have tried homemade cola once but never attempted the complexity of making it myself :)
