That movie so totally rocked (Transformers)... I am in awe. As I heard or read someone else say, I felt like a 7-year-old sitting there in the theater.

I definitely will be seeing this one again in the theater... and will be eagerly awaiting the DVD.

More thoughts later as they percolate.

As some of you may have read over on [livejournal.com profile] fyreseer's, we did a quick road trip to Jefferson City for the Missouri River Regional Library Renaissance Festival last weekend. A nice little 6-hour faire in a great site, with room to grow, for sure. We caught the Jolly Rogers' show and enjoyed spectating a bit of the highland games that [info]cammie018 (& crew) put on.

Anywho, here are the pics I took. Nothing fancy, and I haven't done any editing to them, just threw together a quick album.

I was talking with someone about sushi a few weeks ago. My mind, being the steel sieve that it is, has totally blanked on who it was and the name of the restaurant or where it was. But the point was, this place had $1 sushi.

Does that ring any bells for anyone?

Lawyer to RIAA: Sue the First Twins for copyright violations!

Mitchell Silverman, an attorney in Florida, noticed in a recent news-story that GW Bush's twin daughters presented him with a mix CD of exercise music for Father's Day. Since the record industry maintains that making and distributing mix CDs is a copyright infringement, Silverman sent their legal offices a letter on letterhead asking them to sue the first twins for "stealing music."

As you will see from the attached article from today's The Miami Herald, President George W. Bush's daughters made him a presumably illegal compilation CD, a so-called "mix CD," as a Father's Day present. As the article, at http://www.miamiherald.com/692/story/142726.html states, "[President] Bush's twin daughters, gave him [as a Father’s Day present] a CD they had made for him to listen to while exercising."

This is a serious violation of copyright. As you know, whichever of your member organizations that are right-holders for the copied musical works may be entitled to statutory damages of $150,000.00 per musical work copied.

I hope and expect that you at the RIAA will display the same vigor in prosecuting this matter and protecting the rights of your rights-holders that it has displayed in enforcing those rights against other alleged violators.

So, I know this is usually [livejournal.com profile] senset's domain, but I couldn't let this one by:

A cardiologist died and was given an elaborate funeral.

A huge heart, covered in flowers, stood directly behind the casket during the service. Following the eulogy the heart opened and the casket rolled inside. The heart then closed sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever.

At that point, one of the mourners burst into laughter.

When all eyes stared at him, he said, "I'm sorry, I was just thinking of my own funeral......I'm a gynecologist."

The proctologist fainted.

...not to share:

There are some other very cool videos of these guys on YouTube.

They are called The Wrong Trousers, a band of very talented three high school students Mack Leighton (bass), Kelsea Little (harp) and Joseph Lorge (mandolin), busking in Balboa Park, California, singing Video Killed the Radio Star.

They also have a MySpace page, which has 2 additional tracks, both quite entertaining.

Below is the recipe for homemade "OpenCola," an open-source cola beverage that invites makers to create and modify their recipe to achieve a better beverage. Despite what the site say, there is also plenty of evidence that it doesn't make a bit of difference. Oh, well. It's a nice thought, I guess. I shoulda done my homework.

Carry on. Nothing to see here.

Apparently tomorrow, May 15, has been chosen for a "Gas Out." A friend of mine emailed me about it a bit ago, and it appears to be legit.

Here's more info.

Apparently, something similar was done in 1997, and gas prices dropped 30 cents/gallon overnight.

Worth a shot, if you ask me.
